Trying A New Place

On May 21st the family got together to try a new Chinese restaurant in Monterey Park. We all gave it a thumbs up.

The Long Beach Grand Prix

 

 This past April 15th I experience the Long Beach Grand Prix for the first time. It was a clear and beautiful morning for the pre races.  We took the local blue line Metro to downtown Long Beach.

 I'm not sure if the annual races will come to a close. There was talk of this being the last year for the races in Long Beach.  I'm glad I was able to experience this race with Mike this year.

A Date Wtih Professore Forlino

 My Italian classmates and I drove to Cal State University Fullerton  in mid-April to sit in on a special course on" Travel Italian language for Seniors" offered by Marino Forlino.  

After the class we all enjoyed dinner with Marino at a great Napolitano pizzeria  in downtown Fullerton called "Fuoco". 

Cheers and Salute Marino!  Now we need to see you in your new home in Claremont! 

Amanda's High School Graduation Party

On Sunday July 10, 2016 we celebrated our niece Amanda's graduation from high school.  A wonderful party was held in the beautiful town of Vermilion, Ohio at the family cottage grounds owned by four families of German/Irish heritage.
 ( Amanda's grandfather's family is one). 
 Here are some photos of that happy day.  Amanda heads to Duke University in the fall.
We all wish her great success and happiness as she begins her college years.

 Congratulations to Amanda, Valedictorian of her class at Lakewood High School.

 The Olympic outing club was formed in 1902 by four German/Irish families who brought property in Vermilion Ohio and built cottages for their descendants to enjoy. Each year from that time on families have enjoyed summer days out in the country, boating, swimming and celebrating life in this beautiful countryside setting.
