A Stop in Orvieto this Weekend

 The kids had a great 3 days in Rome and stopped in charming Orvieto on the way back to Florence Sunday. Sofia starts tennis camp today.

In early 2016 Sofia was 6 months old. It was her first visit to Rome and she received a blessing during her encounter with Pope Francis. Another year she received some sage advice from Roman nuns. Today her family paid tribute to this wonderful man when visiting the tomb of Pope Francis.

The Power of Paint

 

We had a fun night.  Attended the opening of “The Power of Paint” an exhibition of 48 women artists (members of “Women Painters West” ) at the Huntington Beach Art Center. Our dear friend Karen was one of the exhibiting artists. The gallery space and paintings were impressive. Women painters west is an organization which provides women with an artistic community to practice their art in all media and provides exhibition venues for a diverse group of artists. Founded in Laguna Beach in 1921 it is comprised of approximately 200 dedicated artists. 

 

 

 

 

Karen and her husband Alan have been our life long friends. Dinner in Sunset Beach followed the opening.

 

 

 

 We reminisced about vacations we have taken together years before we were married and also all the celebratory events we have shared through the years.
