I hadn't meant to eat at i Fratellini but after walking from Piazza della Republica I found myself there. It’s so much fun. There are other sandwich places that are really being touted now. I’ve tried some. The lines for all the popular sandwiches are long but it goes fast. Try the others as well if you have time and inclination for quick easy lunch. I love this hole in the wall place (it is exactly that) but a real part of Florentine local experience.
Thursday June 20: I was a bit apprehensive to hear the temps were going to be 95 degrees today. With no real plans I was content to stay in the apartment with ac. By mid morning the city was calling me to visit and I heeded that call. First stop “The Bargello”. The Bargello, also known as the Palazzo del Bargello or Palazzo del Popolo ("Palace of the People"), is a former barracks and prison in Florence, Italy. Since 1865, it has housed the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, a national art museum.
