Los Angeles Union Station was designed by architects John and Donald Parkinson with a blend of Spanish Colonial, Mission Revival, and Art Deco styles. This combined style, sometimes called Mission Moderne, creates a unique aesthetic with features like arched doorways, red-tiled roofs, geometric patterns, marble floors, and brass fixtures. The station, which opened in 1939, is a significant historical landmark and serves as a major transportation hub in Los Angeles.
