The Drive to Haleakala and Up Country

We drove mid morning to Haleakala and enjoyed the changing landscape all along the way to the top of the volcanic ridges.  Hiked and marveled. A great mid afternoon lunch at Haile Maile General store.  Excellent food.  We  arrived in makawao at 4:00 with no baked goodies to be found.  Some strolling in Makawao and Pa'ia then a drive to Pa'ia beaches and the sea was wild at Ho'okipa Beach. Returned home to watch the sunset on the lanai and to relax at home.
