Isn't It Romantic?

"Isn't it romantic?

Music in the night,

a dream that can be heard.

Isn't it romantic?

Moving shadows write the oldest magic word.

I hear the breezes playing in the trees above

while all the world is saying you were meant for love.

Isn't it romantic

merely to be young on such a night as this?

Isn't it romantic?

Every note that's sung is like a lover's kiss.

Sweet symbols in the moonlight,

do you mean that I will fall in love per chance?

Isn't it romance?" From "Love Me Tonight" Music and Lyrics Rogers and Hart

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Had a great time on Saturday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim California. Perfect day for baseball with the sun shining brightly (80 degrees) and blue clear skies.

We had a great viewing venue with a private company suite...

Plenty of goodies to eat including good old fashioned hot dogs with all the trimmings, spicy italian sausages with peppers and onions on rolls, roast beef with carmelized onions on baguettes and plenty of ice cold beer.

Angels fan in support of "Pujols" the newest addition to the team.

The main entrance includes two giant Angels hats complete with New Era tags on the sweatband (including one indicating the hats' size 649½). The hats were originally blue and featured the Angels' "winged" logo designed by Disney for the 1997 season, and were repainted red and decorated with the present-day halo insignia for the 2002 season. Also outside home plate gate is a full-sized brick infield complete with regulation pitcher's mound and lighted bases, with bricks at each player position engraved with the names of Angels players who played at that position on Opening Day of each season since the Angels joined the American League in 1961.

Angel Stadium has been the home of the Angels since their move from Los Angeles. In 1964, ground was broken for Anaheim Stadium and in 1966, the then-California Angels moved into their new home after having spent four seasons renting Dodger Stadium (referred to during Angels games as Chavez Ravine Stadium) from the Dodgers.

HAPPY EASTER!

"I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart
comes singing.
At morn the cherry blossoms will be white,
and the Easter bells will be ringing." -Edna Dean Proctor

Good Idea: Finding Easter eggs on Easter Sunday.

Bad Idea: Finding Easter eggs at Thanksgiving.

Happy Easter one and all!

Our Saturday Adventure with 3 Yr. Old Rex

A week ago we were able to spend the whole day with our nephew and nieces son Rex. We had a lot of fun taking him to the park to watch the little league softball games and then for a two mile hike through our local nature center in Long Beach. It was a lot of fun but by the time we drove to the airport near our home to watch the planes land Rex was fast asleep. We wore him out!
Here's a little smilebox which shows our Saturday adventure with him.

Limitless Potential

Athena top of the Grand Canyon 2010

"We can either watch life from the sidelines,
OR ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE...
Either we let SELF-DOUBT and FEELINGS OF INADEQUACY
prevent us from realizing our potential, or embrace the fact
that when we turn our attention away from ourselves,
OUR POTENTIAL IS LIMITLESS."

-C. Reeve

Falling In Love With Life

"Sometimes, it hits me. How magnificent life really is.

All the little details, all the little features.

Like the dust, gracefully floating off from old books;

Like the little fibers in your favorite sweater;

Like the way paint sits upon a white canvas.

Like the broken lines and creases on your hands;

Like the warmth of a hot cup of tea.

Or like the path a tear takes, slowly dripping.

When you begin to see small details like these,

you'll begin to appreciate life more

This world is waiting for you, whispering for you to:

"Fall in love with me...Fall in love with life."

Entering In

"It doesn't have to be the blue iris.

It could be weeds and a vacant lot

or a few small stones.

Just pay attention

and patch a few words together

and don't try to make them elaborate.

This isn't a contest

but the doorway into thanks and a silence,

in which another voice may speak." ~ Mary Oliver, Praying

Deep Within You

"When one sees with ears and hears with eyes, one cherishes no doubts. How naturally the raindrops fall from the leaves!... Taste the still air, hear the still water: new leaves well spring from the doorpost. Plum and bamboo will rise through you. Snowflakes and stones will set roots through your shoulders and hands. What a stillness! Deep into the rocks sinks the cicada's shrill!" Robert Bringhurst,from Pieces of Map, Pieces of Music
