My Footwear Memory

 When I was in high school this was the shoe brand I coveted.: Capezio*





*"In 1887 Salvatore Capizio an Italian cobbler emigrated to the United States, opened a shoe repair shop near the old Metropolitan Opera House  in New York City.  He began his business by repairing theatrical shoes for the Met, and transitioned from cobbler to shoemaker when he created pair of shoes for Polish tenor Jean de Reszke  in an emergency. His shop soon became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and purchase his shoes." wikipedia

Capizio was born in  Muro,Lucano, Italy ,  April 13, 1871. In 1887 at age 17 he opened he opened his shop near the Old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. The sign above his door read: ''The Theatrical & Historical shoemaker." -https://www.capezio.com/about/capezio-story

Some Thoughts On My Birthday





Today as I celebrate  my birthday I am profoundly thankful for the time I have been given to experience this life.  All the months, days and years of time to learn, love and appreciate the lessons of this journey. Sometimes people ask "If I had to do it all over again what would I do differently?" My answer is I would not change anything. I've made plenty of mistakes but I was lucky enough  that those choices did not adversely affect me in the long review of my life. I was always kinda happy that I was born in early January. I liked that it coincided with the beginning of a new year.     Every birthday felt like another chance to make the year ahead meaningful and important. I am ever grateful to all the lovely souls, family, friends and even strangers that helped me  be a better person.

Plan A


If you want 2018 to be your year: 

don't sit on the couch and wait for it.
Go out. Plan ahead. Make the joy in 
your life and for others. 
  Do new things. Be excited about 
life. Make necessary changes. Center yourself and 
listen to your inner voice.
Read more books. Invite a friend to lunch. 
Get organized. Throw away what you've been cluttering. Unfollow negative people in your life.
Pay it forward. Help others. 
Be true to yourself.  Exercise.
Eat wisely. Drink more water. Get more sleep. 
  Go to sleep counting your blessings.
Wake up counting your blessings. Take time
to smell the roses. Travel more.  Be fierce. 
Don't gossip. Show more gratitude. Do things that
 challenge you. Be Brave. Be patient.  Be Kind. 

Always, always follow the Golden Rule:
