How Three Cool Women Handle a Hot Day in Southern California

Yesterday August 27th I was finally able to get together with my dear friends Lynda and Jo to celebrate their retirements from teaching.

We had a lot of fun despite the 100 degree heat wave that was taking over southern California.  This is how we kept cool:

First we headed south to lovely Newport Beach.  Once here we headed to the wonderful restaurant "True Food Kitchen" at Fashion Island

The cool interior was welcoming and refreshing...

Lunch was revitalizing and soon we were off to the beautiful nearby nursery, Roger's Gardens.

Still HOT outside

First stop the beautiful gift store at Roger's.

We loved this amazing archway made of books.  So many fun things to look at here, including the holiday items. Yes, Halloween and Christmas have arrived at Roger's Gardens.

Time to face the heat...the garden is calling

Time to leave Roger's and head north to Long Beach on PCH.
First a quick stop to Starbucks to hydrate with some iced drinks...

 Onto to Belmont Shore...

We are headed to Nick's on 2nd Street where some drinks have our names on them!

Cheers to you Jo and Lynda!

May you find joy and daily new adventures  in all the years to come.  (Call me I will be happy to make fun mischief with you both).

Happy Retirement to two great friends!

You all know that anytime you get to spend a day with Barb Cabot, party
planner/tour guide extraordinaire, is a special treat! She not only plans a fantastic day but she sends you an itinerary in advance. You have to be ready to have your own personal paparazzi along for the ride.
(Another talent we are all in awe of!!).Thanks for a great day Barb, Jo and I are awaiting many more of these fun adventures...xoxo
