"House on Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros was our chosen book.
It happened to fall in the midst of a tremendous heat wave.
Despite the heat, Sherri had created a lovely
atmosphere for us to feel collected, serene and most cool.
Lunch was absolutely fabulous.
We had a heart-warming discussion about the book which brought back many personal memories for the members who each shared a few lines of their own memoirs about growing up in their childhood homes. Very poignant and special memories.
After some heartfelt sharing we indulged ourselves in delectable desserts! (sorry I got carried away with eating sweets and forgot to photograph the ice cream).
