Day 3 Touring Mt. Horab Land of the Trolls

On Thursday Aug. 6th we took the first of many drives in the countryside. Today's destination was Mt. Horab, the Troll capital of the world! Mount Horab/Blue Mounds area is situated amid rolling wooded hills and narrow scenic valleys.

Mount Horab is a quaint little town filled with antique stores along it's "troll lined" Main Street. Home to artists and crafters who sell their paintings, ceramics, and more in consignment shops and galleries.

We enjoyed a visit to Mt. Horab museum which houses an award winning exhibit that conscentrates on Southwestern Dane County ethnic evolution and reflections on the history of the state of Wisconsin.  Also featured are photographs of the quaint "Little Norway" town which no longer exists.  A really fun museum.

Lunch at the Grumpy Troll

First of many beer samplers.

Heading home after an afternoon of touring we make a wonderful dinner with new recipes for cauliflower crusted pizza and fresh kale salad.

Sofia gets to play with Grampa
and then she gets dinner too!

A happy day for all!
