I received these photos before my morning walk. Today is the first day of school 2025-26 for Rocco and Sofia. It gave me a lot to think about as I walked. Rocco begins his second year of preschool. He's a pro at back to school even though he's not yet 5. Excited and happy to see his teacher, his classroom and his friends. Sofia begins a new chapter in her education as she starts "Middle School". She toured her new school earlier this week to meet her homeroom teacher and to get a locker. What memories that stirred. Sofia is beginning 5th grade and the concept of middle school at that age is very different from my youth. My "Junior High school" (that's what we called middle school) began in 7th grade. So for me I would still have two more years in grammar school before being in Sofia's shoes today. But time marches on. Anyway, both kids are thoroughly ready to begin a new academic year. I hope they have a grand and wonderful year filled with good challenges and happy days of learning.
