Front of the Glendale Forest lawn museum
We were informed that the exterior of the art museum located at Forest lawn in Glendale was inspired by the beautiful cathedral in Orvieto Italy. The Bronze doors by Ghiberti are part the permanent collection here at Forest Lawn but unfortunately are not presently displayed. They are exact replicas of the original doors in Florence and are pristine. We were sad we could not view on this visit. However three of the panels can be found in the mausoleum decorating one of the crypts.
The art collection is beautiful:
Replica of the Rose Window in Notre Dame
Moses by Michelangelor replica
Replicas from the panels of Ghiberti's Bronze Doors in Florence
