It was a lovely Spring day this past Monday for my friend Tracy and I to be together. A good day for a walk in the sun and a time for us to catch up with news of our grand-babies.
We were happy to meet Chef Cesar's wife Luz.
She went over the varied and large menu with us.
We started with one spicy beef and potato empanada and one newly added to their menu chicken empanada. So good.
Luz also served us a special chicken soup. Made only on mondays and complimentary with any entree over $12.00. This was delicious and hearty.
Tracy ordered the "Gaucho Chicken" which was divine. I loved this marinated chicken in a delicious chimichurri sauce with garlic and onions mojo. Served with a house salad and rustic potatoes. Servings were very generous.
I ordered this Caribbean rice dish a sauteed rice with shrimp, carrots, corn, braised celery, onion, bacon parsley and scrambled egg. It came with crunchy plantains and a salad (or lentil soup or rustic potatoes).

There are many interesting things which tempted us. Some examples: Pork Cuban Style, Caribbean pulled pork, Lomo Saltado (a sauteed beef with potatoes onion and tomato), Jamaican Tilapia, caribbean plantains, Colombian Empanaditas and more.
For something different and latin flavored try Cesar's Bistro. Happy to have this restaurant in our neighborhood.
Tracy and I also had a book exchange. Look what I get to read.
