Touring Downtown Los Angeles With Colleen

Monday February 6, 2017
Since Colleen had not really seen much of Los Angeles prior I took her on a full day's tour of the downtown area.
We caught the Metro blue line around 9:30.
It was a cold and wet day but we were dressed in our oversized jackets (Colleen wearing my rain jacket and me wearing Mike's).  No rain was going to dampen our plans.

The first stop was the Los Angeles Public Library:

 Next Stop The Biltmore Hotel

En route to our restaurant we made a short stop at the fun "Last Bookstore"

Then a leisure lunch at Le Petit Paris..

Braised rabbit with root veges for me and Steak with Pomme fries for Colleen

Onward in the rain to the City hall

viewing deck on the 27th floor

The Disney Music hall is next on our tour

Quick shopping at the museum gift store

 The Broad Museum

the gift shop at the Museum of Contemporary art

 On to the California Plaza

 Angels Flight

 Grand Central market

 the Bradbury bldg.

A stop at Bottega Louis's  for coffee and dessert

Last stop Union station
 some shopping on Olvera Street

Time to head home.  The sun is coming out at day's end. Home again by 6:00. A full day's touring accomplished.

The next morning we were up early to go to Crema Cafe in Seal Beach for a last coffee and pastry before Colleen's flight home

It was really lovely to have this one on one time with my slowtravel friend Colleen!

About a week later I received this wonderful surprise at my door.

Thank you Colleen for such a lovely surprise.
