We transferred to the Red line metro and headed for the Hollywood/Vine stop.
The metro stop there was decorated in a movie theme with large empty film spools all over the ceiling.
When you arrive at the street level the Pantages Theater is directly across the street. How easy is that?
One block away is the "Greenleaf" cafe. Our destination for lunch.
There's indoor or patio dining areas but we decided to eat in the air conditioned dining area inside.
After lunch we took a stroll down Hollywood blvd.
Famous corner of Hollywood and Vine
Capitol Records is the round building in the background
All kinds of souvenir shops along the blvd. "And the Oscar goes to....."
It's summer and the tourists are out strolling the streets with us.
If you are a film buff or a movie paraphernalia collector don't miss Larry Edmunds Cinema bookstore.
You can find all kinds of wigs, costumes and pretty much the gamut of strange outfits on Hollywood blvd.
The play followed the life of singer songwriter Carole King. The music was wonderful and the story very interesting and revealing about the music world of the 1960's and 70's. I loved it.
After the performance we headed back to the metro stop across the street.
Soon we were on our way home.
Thanks to my cousin Nancy for being my adventure partner on this summer day in July. It was a "Beautiful" summer treat!
