Last Days in Kirksville

We happily greeted Daniele on his return to Kirksville from Italy. He arrived late due to various travel delays but finally we were able to pick him up at the local Cape Air airport on August 29th.

Sofia was so happy her daddy was home again!

On our last night Aria, Daniele and Sofia took Jocelyn and me to dinner at the Thousand Hills restaurant overlooking the lake.

We called   a private cab company for our ride to Cape Air on the afternoon of August 31.  Daniele's car was being repaired at the mechanics in town and it wasn't ready.  It turns out the Cab driver was the ex Mayor of Kirksville. His name is Glen Moritz.  He was a funny guy.

We boarded the little plane and flew back to St. Louis at 4:00 p.m.

At our gate there was an announcement that the veterans of the Vietnam, Korean and WWII who were able to be apart of the program which takes them to Washington D.C. were arriving at our gate. They passed out flags and asked that we give them a warm welcome home.  We loved cheering them as they arrived and thanked them for their service to our country.  It was a very heartwarming event.

It was a great time with Aria and Sofia in their new home in Kirksville. We will long remember our happy days together there.

Home again, home again jiggety jig!
