Friday: well after holding my breath not knowing if the kids would get a flight last night we went to bed. Hallelujah they made it to New Orleans after midnight. We had a wonderful quiet morning in the apartment then headed to the Audubon aquarium and insectarium while Aria and Daniele left for their conference at the convention center nearby. We had a lot of fun especially petting stingrays, watching mermaids swim with fish and entering a butterfly garden.
In the evening Aria had planned a 2 hr. Dixieland Jazz boat ride on the Mississippi River.
It was perfect weather all day despite reports that we would have showers. We are so happy to be with Aria, Daniele and the grandkids. Oh and to end the night we bought beignets and walked through the Roosevelt hotel to see the Christmas lights. It was so crowded with visitors.
