Wednesday : It’s pretty crazy but we logged in 23,000 steps today. I might need a new pair of tennis shoes by the end of this trip. Took a very early morning walk through the Louis Armstrong park at the outer French quarter border
then got to Central market to buy our muffuletta sandwiches for lunch with Alessia. This was our designated French quarter day.
We bought beignets at Cafe du Monde and don’t hate me but we think we prefer Cafe Beignets over du monde! By the way I followed the rule today and did not wear black so avoided a powdered sugar mess!
At 10 we walked through Jackson Square and snapped a picture of Andrew atop his horse,
then went inside the lovely Saint Louis Cathedral. We then went to “The Historic New Orleans Collection Museum” at 529 Royal street (free) for several interesting exhibits and an organ concert. Had a lovely time meeting my slowtravel friend Alessia.

After meeting Alessia we took a quick ferry boat ride to “Algiers Point” .
We ended the day with grilled oysters and a salad and a long evening walk.
Christmas decorations and twinkling lights are popping up everywhere . Another fun day.
