Destiny
"An invisible thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, and circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle. But it will never break." -Ancient Chinese Proverb

Evening of Sofia's 5th Birthday
At the end of the evening Sofia and her parents went inside her new pink tent and watched the video of birthday wishes that all the friends and family had sent to her mom. All the birthday wishes were wonderful and cheery from her friends at school to family and friends all over the U.S. and Italy. Sofia was thrilled to watch this. Here are the pictures Sofia watching the Happy Birthday video.
After she watched the video Aria told me that Sofia whispered to her "I'm praying to God
that I will dream of Gramma tonight." Sofia has since repeated that to me. She has said "Gramma I wish you were here so that we could cuddle together. I prayed to God that I could dream about you.
Every day we face time for about an hour. We play together and talk. One day she said, "when I come to visit you Gramma and it's very early in the morning I'm going to ask my parents if it's okay if I go into your room and cuddle with you."

Happy Camper Sofia
So
a while ago they had told Sofia that because of the Corona virus she
probably wouldn't be able to have a party with friends but that they
could do an indoor camping trip. She was really excited about that and
has been talking about making s'mores etc. We joined in and ordered her
this cute tent for the occasion. Might as well make the camping into
"glamping". I see there are bugs on the floor to add to the effect. Her
auntie in Australia ordered a special sleeping bag for Sofia. I think
it's safe to say she's a Happy Camper!
Happy 5th Birthday Sofia
Today Sofia is celebrating her 5th birthday. We face-timed today so I could see her open the presents we sent her (the purple haired "Mal" doll from The Descendants and a Chelsea/Barbie camper ). She helped her mom bake the cake which she loved showing me. They went on a nature hike at the lake, looked for birds and bugs
and tonight they will have a little camping trip in their living room, make s'mores and watch the movie "The Great Outdoors". Her parents made a great video of her friends and family wishing her a happy birthday.
I think even in these Corona Virus days this may be her most memorable Happy Birthday yet. Happy 5th Birthday Sofia!

Hope
"You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the
world's problems at once, but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history
has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own."- Michelle Obama
