Food Tour in Bologna

Tuesday June 18th : I don’t know where to begin about this morning’s fun adventure. Bologna has the title of “Food capital of the world” and I had booked a walking food tour with https://deliciousbologna.com/  to discover the worthiness of that esteemed title. I arrived at the designated meet up place at 9:30 thirty minutes early. There is a maximum of only 8 people per group and that was a perfect small size! Our guide is the owner of Delicious Bologna and his name is Mattia Tozzoli. For four hours we walked through the city as Mattia pointed out historic wonderful facts. We made countless stops for coffee, cheese, balsamic vinegar tastings. We watched women making hand made tortellinis, and other shaped pastas, we tasted trays of the most prized salami and mortadella. We ate delicious hot pasta dishes specialties of Bologna. More food and wine than I could keep up with. All of it divine. What an education in the history of these food products. We discovered hidden gems, eateries and bars (one of them where Stanley Tucci filmed) and secret stories about town sculptures and whispering walls. Mattia is a local so he has first hand knowledge of life and food of his city. If you are looking for a fun adventure the next time you are in Bologna I can heartily recommend this tour company.

Father's Day 2024

Happy Father’s Day to my husband Mike who has always loved children and has been a wonderful father to our two daughters and a loving grandfather to our grandchildren! Thanks to our dear friends Mary and David who celebrated Father’s day today with Mike.

Father's Day

Sunday June 16,2024 Father’s Day: Daniele left very early to take all the students to Volterra. Aria and I spent the day with the kids having a mid day picnic, taking the kids to buy books, going to a nearby park to ride a carousel and play at yet another small park. We stopped to buy a cake for our Father’s Day dessert. Weather is so pleasant. A quiet peaceful Sunday. Ps Sunday lots of local Florentines walking their dogs and chatting with friends.
