Lunch With Marion

Some great catch up time with two of the three "Tre Stagioni".

How Old Am I?

"Age is irrelevant. Ask me
how many sunsets I've
seen, hearts I've loved,
trips I've taken, or
concerts I've been to.
That's how old I am." -Joelle

Touring Southern California Beaches with Karen, Julia and Elizabeth part 3

At 6:00 we picked up Mike and took the girls to view the city of Long Beach from atop Signal Hill. Then a drive down 2nd street in Belmont shore to walk around the Naples Canals at sunset. A nice end to a great summer day. Wonderful to see you Karen, Julia and Elizabeth.  Good luck girls as you enter college. These next 4 years are going to fly. Enjoy it all.

Touring SoCal Beaches with Karen, Julia and Elizabeth Part 2

We arrived at Huntington Beach around 4 p.m. I had been telling the girls about the U.S. Open Surf Championship Competition that is held here once a year. I had no idea it was being held this week. We arrived and were so pleasantly surprised. The girls had wanted to watch surfing and so this was really great.

Touring the Southern California Beaches With Karen, Julia and Elizabeth

I had such a great time touring So Cal beaches with my friend Karen (my sister in law Mary's sister) and her 18 year old daughter Julia and her fellow high school graduate and bff Elizabeth. All from Ohio and the first time to California for Karen and Julia. We drove to Laguna Beach my absolute favorite beach in California (Sawdust Festival first then strolling the beach) and then north on Pacific Coast Highway in this order Laguna, Crystal Cove, Corona Del Mar, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Bolsa Chica, Sunset, Seal beach (Main Street) . Picked up Mike at 6:00 and took them for a tour of our city of Long Beach including view from atop Signal Hill, 2nd Street Belmont Shore and a walk around the Naples Canals at Sunset. All the best to Julia and Elizabeth as they head off to college in the next two weeks! Karen, Julia, Elizabeth it was so much fun to be with you three! Best summer treat for me to be with you. Mary Cabot we wished you were with us!

Oh August

"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning. The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot. It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color."
