“Take only memories, leave only footprints.”
Sofia and Aria attended a book signing for Barbara and Jenna Bush's newest book "Love Comes First." It was held on the SMU campus at the George W. Bush Presidential Library. Laura Bush was in attendance too. It happened also to be her birthday. I asked was there cake and they responded "No cake but lots of desserts!" I recalled the time Aria wrote to me from Italy in 2008. She had been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to work in Sardinia for a year and had received an invitation along with four other Fulbright recipients to meet with Laura Bush in Rome at the Center for International Studies. Today was one of those full circle moments, mothers and daughters meeting for the first time and again.
I know I’m late to this party but I’m totally addicted to this series! Writing is great, loving the brilliant repartee. Lewis Litt cracks me up! Where have I been?
For some time now we’ve been catching our rinse water from dish washing in a big pot and we water the garden with it. It’s amazing how much water goes down the drain when you wash dishes. Because we water the garden with this daily run off we’ve gotton so many volunteer plants. Awhile ago we suddenly had a big leafy vine growing under our rose bushes. At first we thought it was squash but last week we discovered watermelons!
Cliff hanger ending...
Someone's heart is going to be broken. My advice: Have some chocolate cake ready!
