Tea With Tracy

There’s a very cute new English Tea Parlor in the Lakewood Village on Bellflower. The owners and proprietors are a mother daughter duo from England. Yesterday Tracy treated me to a lovely luncheon Tea for my birthday. The menu features several options for tea sandwiches with scones, lemon curd, jam and cream and variety of chocolates and desserts, the menu features a long list of teas as well. It’s a very cute place and the owner Sue is so sweet. They opened in October of last year. I recommend this great addition to our community and hope you will drop by and support this new family run business. They have a children’s menu as well. Reservations recommended .

Afterwards we walked to the nearby used book store which was filled with used books at a great price. Across from the book store the wonderful “Romance” boutique and flower shop. We are lucky to have such a charming little shopping village. Let’s frequent these small business owners so they can thrive in our community.

We ended the celebration with a little shopping at Nordstrom Rack and some bubbly at Tantelum. What a great day!

Choose To Be Happy First

"At some point, you make the decision to be happy where you are.  You hold onto your dreams while allowing new ones to grow. This is where you take root and bloom, creating a life that's beautiful and fulfilling without waiting for perfection.  You pause to feel gratitude for what you have and embrace simple joys.  By shifting your perspective, you realize you can craft something extraordinary from our life's raw materials.  Instead of waiting for everything to align, you build your dreams, brick by brick, right where you are planted. Let go of the "I'll be happy when"  and instead choose to be "happy First," and watch everything fall into place. -jamie varon

Lunch with Marion and Judy

My friend Marion and I took our friend Judy out for lunch today to celebrate her two week post hand surgery. Judy had said she went to the grocery store last Thursday and was having a difficult time managing the grocery cart. Ironically, just then she looked at this man next to her who was pushing his cart and shopping. She said she then noticed he had only one arm. These kinds of moments certainly give each of us pause to change our perspective.

Sunday Walk at the Colorado Lagoon

It’s a beautiful day in Long Beach and we took our morning walk at the Colorado Lagoon. There is the coolest tree house along the way. Happy Sunday all.
