Some Wishes for You

"Wherever you walk, cool glades shall fan the glade.

Trees, where you sit, shall crowd into a shade:

Wherever you tread, the blushing flowers shall rise,

and all things flourish where you turn your eyes."-Alexander Pope

Buon Viaggio

"For a voyage to the destination,

whatever it may be,

is also a voyage inside oneself,

even as a cyclone carries along with it the center in which it must

ultimately come to rest. At these moments I think not only of the distances

I have travelled within myself-without friend or ship-

but of the long way I have yet to go before

I come home within myself

and within the journey."

The Morning

"A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning,
as if supported by the rays of the sun,
a bird settled on the fire escape,
joy in the task of coffee,
joy accompanied me as I walked." -Anais Nin

Happy Mother's Day

My mother, Ruth, had favorite things she loved. Among those things were butterflies. Now that she is gone I feel comforted every time I see a butterfly. They remind me of her joyfulness, her humour and her independent spirit.

So on this day I post a photo of an orange butterfly for my mom, to say"

" I love you mom. Happy Mother's Day! I miss you!"

"Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,

Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,

Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,

But only one mother the wide world over."~George Cooper
