Asian All You Can Eat Buffet

On a recent Saturday night my brother and nephew told me about a  good all you can eat Asian buffet restaurant called Kami Buffet and Grill. Located at 909 San Gabriel Blvd. Rosemead, California 91770.* (Just off the 90 freeway).

    We decided to try it out.  This place was very busy but we did not have to wait long for a table. There are many bustling waiters cleaning tables, taking empty plates and keeping everything moving along very quickly.  The food choices are amazing.  Lots of different types of sushi,

 many types of seafood including crab legs and whole soft shell salt and pepper crabs.

 You can also assemble your own stir fry ingredients and someone will take your plate with meat and veges and stir fry it adding sauces as they cook your food in front of you.

 Desserts are plentiful including fresh fruit to dip in a chocolate fountain, ice cream and many types of cakes

 Well we were happy campers at the end of the evening.  Every once in awhile an all you can eat buffet fits the bill.  We liked Kami for just that reason. 

*Kami is open daily from 11:00 a.m.to 10:00 p.m.  Casual dining, plentiful seating but expect to wait during the busy lunch and dinner hours. Free parking.

Rainy Night in Koreatown

It is almost unheard of for rain to fall in July in Southern California but this past Saturday July 18th that idea was proven to be untrue. We experienced quite a thunder storm all weekend long.  We dropped Marino off at the airport for his flight back to New Jersey, and we headed to Koreatown to the Brass Monkey Bar on Wilshire Blvd.  

 We were to meet up with friends for a 30th Wedding Anniversary Party/Karaoke night.  We arrived an hour early and found out that the bar didn't serve food until 8:00 and it was only 6:30. We decided to take a walk to find a place to eat but it started to rain harder as we walked without an umbrella.  Soon we found a tiny cafe called,   BCD Tofu House. We took a chance and went in.  We were pleasantly surprised to find the food was very good.  It was also a relief to get out of the pouring rain.

By dinner's end the rain had stopped and we walked on over to join the others at the Brass Monkey.

Driving South on Pacific Coast Highway

On Thursday July 16th I wanted to show Marino Laguna beach. As we drove south on Pacific Coast Highway we made a brief stop in Newport Beach at the outdoor shopping area known as Fashion Island.

After lunch in Fashion Island we drove south on Pacific Coast Highway to Laguna. It was a beautiful summer day.

 After a full day of beach exploration we ended the evening with a concert in the park by the Marine stadium in Long Beach.  Met with our friends and enjoyed a summer evening of music.
