An Impromptu Weekend Trip to Santa Barbara

We had a very last minute quick trip to Santa Barbara this weekend. The focus of this trip was to say goodbye to our friends Bill and Charity who are moving from Santa Barbara to Kansas. We met up for breakfast Saturday morning at a lovely place called Jeannine's bakery located in downtown Santa Barbara on Figueroa very close to State street.

We were early so I took a walk down the arcade where the cafe/bakery is located. Such a charming area filled with shops and cafes.

We spent a wonderful couple of hours sitting outside in the sunshine talking with Charity and Bill.

 The food was delicious!

Lots of reminiscing about our slowtravel group get togethers  and lots of laughs

Finally it was time to let Charity and Bill go home to finish packing their things. Their big move takes place February 2nd.
Always difficult to say goodbye but we hope to see Charity and Bill at some future gathering of slowtravel friends. In the meanwhile we wish them well on this new beginning in Kansas.

I will continue tomorrow for our further adventures in Santa Barbara after we left Jeannine's bakery.

Our Friends Charity and Bill

This past weekend we made an impromptu getaway to Santa Barbara to say goodbye to our dear friends Charity and Bill who are moving to Kansas.  We met them several years ago through a travel group called Slowtravel. The past several years we have gone to many Slowtravel gatherings with them. Here are a few photos through the years of our fun times with them and our other Slowtravel friends. It's been a wonderful friendship with so many people who love to travel.
