I wanted to share the lovely grounds of the property we rented. Super private, in a quiet Maui Meadows neighborhood and 5 minutes drive to beautiful beaches in Wailea area. Just down the street neighbors have tiny stands in front of their homes selling fresh eggs, plants and fruit. It's on the honor system. You take what you need and leave your money in a jar. Can you imagine? It's so nice. 25 minutes to the airport. It's been a real pleasure. Here's a little morning walk around the property.
We checked out of our rental at 10:00 but our flight didn't leave til 2:00. We walked down the street to the egg, fruit and plant stands. Bananas had been 5 for $1.00. Everything was empty again. I wanted to put a sign that said, "Yes, we have no bananas!" We took a walk at our favorite beach and then later bought a bento box at Foodland and went across the street to eat on the beach. it was a nice peaceful, unhurried drive to the airport. Aloha Maui...what a nice time we had.
Tuesday March 19th our final beach day. Mokapu/Ulua 8 a.m. Makena Landing 10. The water was clear and placid early morning. The kids took me out for a snorkel on the boogie board. We headed home at 4:00 to get ready for dinner at sunset at 5 Palms. Ended the evening with a lovely walk on a moonlit beach and a big waffle cone of Lappert's ice cream. Safe travels home to Oz Athena and Mat. Together we've made some wonderful memories. Aloha and Mahalo Maui.
I believe in love and kindness, family first, deep meaningful friendships, counting one's blessings and giving to others what you yourself need. I strive to see life as a glass half full. I am very grateful for the life I have and all the wonderful people that make this grand adventure so worthwhile.
