June 20th continued The Gucci Museum

 

 Thursday June 20: after lunch I was going to visit the new “Gucci Museum by Piazza Della Signoria” admission is 10 euro or 5 for students and seniors with I.d.

 

Thursday June 20th Walking Around Florence Duomo, Piazza della Republica

Thursday June 20: if it was 95 degrees it didn’t feel like that nor did it stop the crowds by the Duomo. Of course that whole area is a show stopper. That building is so stunning. After staring at the beautiful facade and marveling at the gentle greens, palest of pinks and  beige walls I walked on to piazza Republica. 

 

The Tour D’France starts this year in Florence . (On Saturday 29 June the Tour de France will start from Florence with a route from the Cascine to Piazza della Signoria, The official start will take place in front of  Viola Park.)

Wednesday Junr 19 An Impromptu Meet Up with Aria

Wednesday June 19:

 It’s going to be another hot day in Florence. I’m feeling torn. Do I leave the apartment with ac to walk through the city that is tempting me or? So far I’m feeling lazy and just making photo reels of these past days. I feel like I’m in a waking state of a dream. I’m flooding my daily memories with all the images that are filling me up.  Thinking of those postcards that say “wish you were here”. Truly, I do!

 Later in the morning:

It’s 95 degrees. I stayed in the apartment til 11:00 and then met Aria after her class ended in front of the Uffizi Galleria. Lovely to walk the broad upper level with the beautifully painted ceilings. After our visit we had lunch at a nice restaurant on via neri where there are several cute places that Aria likes. She gave me a choice and I picked “La Fettunta”. It was wonderful.
