Palm Springs Thursday Part 3

Palm Springs girlfriend getaway Thursday part 3; after the Eichler home tour we drove to the famous Sherman’s deli where we treated ourselves to piled high corn beef sandwiches with potato salad, coleslaw, matzo ball soup and pickles! We ordered 3 desserts to take home. By the time we finished eating it was nearly 3:00 and the promised rain and winds had arrived. We headed home thinking we would wait out the storm and then hit the Thursday night street fair downtown. The rain and cold didn’t subside so we stayed home for some r and r. We watched the first season of “Emily in Paris” then we had some fun with facial masks. We drank prosecco, ate our desserts: chocolate cake, cannolis and napoleon’s. We played Mexican train til 11:00 and had a night of merriment and so many laughs. Big winner was Maria with runners up Sherri  and Lynda . A great day and night.

Momma mia that's a big matzo ball!

We all piled onto the bed and watched season 1 of Emily in Paris

Freddy Kruger has competition!

Palm Springs Part 2 Thursday

Palm Springs girl friend getaway Thursday Part 2: After the lecture at the art museum we headed to a special home tour of the desert Eichler inspired home. Although the architect Eichler never built in Palm Springs The Palm Springs “Desert Eichlers” continue this spirit, adapting timeless design ideas for the desert environment and contemporary lifestyles. Touring one of these homes offers a rare opportunity to experience firsthand how Eichler’s architectural ideals—light, space, and community—have been thoughtfully carried forward in a new context, right in the heart of a neighborhood that celebrates the enduring influence of Modernist design. My dear friend Mike Hirschbein arranged for us to be a part of this tour where we met the owner of house. It was an exceptional experience and beautiful property.

Palm Springs Part 1 Thursday

Palm Springs Girl’s getaway Thursday part 1: we awoke to a beautiful clear desert sunrise. No wind or rain. We took a walk around the neighborhood admiring the desert homes and garden landscapes then leisurely shopped on Palm Desert drive downtown. So many fun shops. Attended a wonderful hour long lecture/slideshow on the Modernism architectural design movement in Brazil at the PS Museum of Art Annenberg theater.
