Adventures in Downtown Los Angeles with Marino and Nancy

On Friday July 17th we went for a special tour of Los Angeles. Marino, my son-in-laws brother was visiting us for a week and my plan was to show him downtown Los Angeles.  My cousin Nancy also accompanied us on this adventure.  I had carefully planned the days itinerary. We traveled by public transportation to show Marino how to easily access different parts of Los Angeles by using the Metro system.

We left Long Beach at 9:30 in the morning and returned at 6:00 in the evening. In total we walked over five miles during this time period. The following photos will show some of the things we discovered during these hours.
They include: Union Station (the main hub for trains and metro stops)

 Olvera street

The Pico House in the main Plaza by Olvera street they are featuring a wonderful exhibit of artist Leo Politi from July 2-31, 2015.

His son, Paul gave us a special tour filled with personal stories of his father's life beginning with an art scholarship at the age of 14 in Milan Italy.

As fellow italians Paul Politi was very emotional. He expressed great gratitude to the Italian people and especially to the city of Milan which housed the Art School who awarded his father the art scholarship which changed the course of his Leo Politi's life.

Toured the 27th floor of the City Hall for a spectacular view of the city.
