We had a really nice international multilingual dinner last night. Lovely to meet my brother in law Vicente's cousin Rosangela visiting from Calabria. She speaks Italian and Portuguese but not English. Another guest, my friend, Connie lives in Long Beach but hails from Brazil. She could speak to Rosangela
in Portuguese and translate for all of us. Vicente who is Italian was
born and raised in Brazil speaks Italian, Portuguese, English, French
and Spanish. My sister speaks some Portuguese and Italian. You can
imagine the fun we had translating. Vicente made a beautiful salad,
Roseangela who is a chef made a delicious hazelnut cake with a ricotta,
pear and limoncello filling. Thank you Connie for the lovely flowers and
all the guests for a truly fun evening.
I believe in love and kindness, family first, deep meaningful friendships, counting one's blessings and giving to others what you yourself need. I strive to see life as a glass half full. I am very grateful for the life I have and all the wonderful people that make this grand adventure so worthwhile.
