Morning Tea and The Backyard

I love the early morning. I take my cup of tea and sit in the back yard. I listen to the birds talking, singing and I think about all the people I love. It’s my favorite part of the day though I love dusk and sunset and the days end as well. All the beginnings and endings. But the morning brings me peace. I like to take in all the quiet and I look at things around me that make me happy. Today there are these fuschia flowers, the last of my Mother’s Day bouquet. I love them. Then there’s the lemon tree, and the red hibiscus and the bird of paradise (who thought of that brilliant name?) Each morning is filled with hope. May your day start out that way as well.

The Drive in Movie

See the source image

I remember the drive in movies with my parents. We’d wear our pjs and bring pillows for the back seat. I remember finding the perfect spot and my dad rolling down the window to put the speaker in place. Sometimes the speaker wouldn’t work so we’d have to move to another spot. Then we’d wait for the sunset and the movie would begin. It was always a double feature and during intermission we’d hope my dad would say “do you kids want some popcorn?”

Clouds

I just went outside and saw the most magnificent clouds. It reminded me of a favorite quote:”Look out that window, that Sky is how much I love you!”

Rainy Day Baking

It was raining this morning and I’ve been seeing so many friends and family posting photos of irresistible baked goodies. I made a simple box mix jello cake ( cupcakes). My sister made this beautiful pear upside down cake. Excited for some dessert tonight.

Finished This!

We started this puzzle of a scene in a Japanese Garden “Ritsurin Park (Kagawa)” on April 24. It’s a beautiful, serene scene, which was not without many challenges. As you can see the many muted blues and greens of the water and forests coupled with the amazing fact that aside from the edge pieces “all” the rest of the 1000 pieces were the very same shape! There were the tiniest of differences in some pieces but many pieces could fit in the same space. Mike was able to figure out mistakes in placement I had made wearing his special magnifying glasses with lights! I could not have finished this puzzle without all his corrections to my misplaced pieces. Certainly a good puzzle for a shelter in place time.

Purple Haze All Around My Brain!

So look what arrived in the mail!

So here’s the purple rain experience. One in the shade and one in the sun. I hope Sofia will like it. It’s My Corona virus cover-up!

Sofia face-timed me last night before she went to bed to see my hair. You know she's beyond the "Frozen" Elsa stage now and her new infatuation is purple haired "Mal" from the Disney Decendants movie. When she saw my hair she happily said "It's like Mal!" That was my thumbs up! I asked Aria if I should buy Sofia a purple wig for her birthday and Aria quickly said "Please don't, she'll be on to something new soon." So for me purple hair this week and then who knows what's to come. Thank you to all for your kind supportive compliments. I guess I'll do just about anything to make Sofia's day.

After the Pandemic

My husband purchased a world map and gave me a dart and said:
"Throw this and wherever it lands I'm taking you on a holiday when
this pandemic is over.

" Turns out we're spending two weeks behind the fridge."
