Saturday Eating Adventures at the new Gen Korean BBQ House, Alhambra California

Our Saturday fun continued when we tried the new restaurant, Gen Korean BBQ House, on Main Street in Alhambra.  Mike and I, along with my brother Randy and sister in law Barb,  met up with our friends Mary and David for the all you can eat dinner special.  The way this works is that for $20.00 you have two hours at your table.  The waiters bring you the beef, chicken, pork or fish that you preselect from a variety of options, some marinated, spicy or plain. You cook the meats at your table. There are addtional condiments on your table such as sliced garlic, chili peppers and a variety of dipping sauces.  There are also dressed salad greens, pickled cabbage (Kim chee) and spicy veges.  Lots of fun.

Ordered a big pitcher of beer which was a nice accompaniment to the spicy foods.
There are some circular slices of turnip and squares of flat noodle to make little wraps of meat and salad green for bite size treats. They also serve bowls of hot steaming rice to go with all your pickled veges and cooked meats.

By the end of the first hour 5 of the 6 of us were pretty much done. We had tried, spicy pork, chicken, marinated Korean spicy Galbi, Bulgogi, and calamari.  But one of us (Mike) was still going strong and now getting more experimental.
He then ordered tongue and intestines...here they are and Mikey liked them!

After dinner Mary and David invited us over to their home for coffee and dessert.

Mary had baked a yummy toffee cake.

The end of a really fun day of touring Los Angeles and then a great dinner with friends and family.

It was a perfect day that we could only top by "spinning tops"!
