Judy
was born and raised in Lompoc CA. Her family were farmers who grew
vegetables. Very common for Japanese Americans back then. This was a
Japanese area with Japanese stores and language school. At the outset
of WWll they had a friend that secured a
place to stay in Colorado. The Kikuno family were fortunate to have
this friend. After the war her family owned a nursery in Walteria CA.
Eventually she married Frank Nakatani 522nd Field Artillery Battalion of
the all Japanese American 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Judy worked for
a well known dress maker in Hollywood named Howard Greer. She also
worked in the office at O'Connor Lincoln-Mercury on Crenshaw Blvd and
Exposition Blvd, Los Angeles.
