A Crystal Cove Adventure with Mike
Mike took the day off. We challenged ourselves to an OC (Orange County)
adventure. We decided to take the
#1 O.C. bus that runs south on Pacific Coast Highway all the way to San
Clemente. We had no destination in mind. Let's go where the wind takes
us. The bus stops in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Fashion island,
Corona Del Mar and then we were coming up to Crystal Cove where I had
been but Mike had never been. This is a historic beach
site where a colony of beach houses are now being restored. A site also
used for many movies like Treasure Island and the movie Beaches. This
Crystal Cove area established in the 1920's was a place some families
returned to every summer renting the same cottages. We got off there and
explored this area. Bus fare is $.75 pp seniors one way so the whole
trip cost us $3.00 plus two sodas $1.00 each. We had a fun adventure for
$5.00. Cheap thrills! Home now working on a jigsaw puzzle.
Treats For Me
Because the words "Treat Yourself" were ringing in my ears I went to
Trader Joe's and bought some flowers today.A year or so ago I found
these blue glasses on eBay. I had loved them ever since my friend Maria
used them as table vases for her daughters wedding reception. They held
pink roses. I love this deep blue color. About to watch a movie now,
glass of wine, party of one. Feels pretty peaceful around here.
