Part 1 March 8, 2026 Sunday adventure. We decided to go to visit the Gene Autry museum just across from the L.A.zoo in Griffith park. We had not been there in recent years.
There are many great exhibits including beautiful Native American Pottery, woven rugs and beautifully executed clothing, moccasins, gloves and ornamental pieces. Incredible bead and quill work.
There are rooms filled with early southwest memorabilia, stagecoaches, an old west bar with photographs, cash register and rooms with historical photographs of old west cowboys and their gear.
It’s two levels of well done exhibits including the old westerns in Hollywood. You can make a video of yourself with moving back ground changes.
I climbed on a horse for a cowgirl photo op and was nearly stuck there trying to dismount. Mike was laughing and said i guess that’s the last time you’ll be taking that picture! It was hilarious!
Highly recommend a visit.
